JEN TRINQUE
ABOUT JEN

The short and quick (start) version:

I’m what Kathy Kolbe (link) would call a “Quick Start”. That means I just jump
right into things and do them, even if I haven’t disconnected the power source
first. I can’t help it; when I want something, I want to start working on it right
now!

You might not want me working on your plumbing or taxes, but trust me; if
you've wanted to make life changes for a long time but haven’t, you want a Quick
Start like me in your life. Working with me will help you define what you want,
break down your goals into manageable chunks, and get you to your goal. Added
bonus: you get me to help you along the way, sharing your accomplishments and
proudest moments of change! (Click

And the long version:

Like many people, I was raised with the idea that I would grow up, finish
school, find a respectable job, and settle down.  Oh, and that respectable job
was going to be with a good company that would provide me with health
insurance, a retirement plan, two weeks of vacation, and stale coffee.

Upon completing college I made the brilliant career move of becoming a
waitress at a ski lodge in Vermont.  Actually, it turned out to be a great move -
my background in graphic design meant I was used to interacting with a
computer screen, not people - and this experience showed me how much
connecting with others meant to me.  I was on my way.

After travelling around the country in my early 20's (including the summer I
spent living in a tent!), I moved to the mountains of western North Carolina
where I spent three wonderful years as the front desk manager, event
coordinator, and occasional toilet-scrubber at a beautiful historic inn.

Unfortunately, I still had a voice telling me, "you need a job with health
insurance and a 401(k)!", so I left to take a job with the state.  (Excuse me, I
need to go breathe into a paper bag for a moment.) This job was not a good fit
for me.

After spending about nine months crying every weekend, I called a life coach.
It turned out to be the best decision I ever made.  Within a month I had put in
my notice at work and decided what I really wanted to do was help others in
the very proactive and tangible way my coach helped me - and thus my career
as a life coach, or "Awesomeness Inspirer", as I like to call it, was launched.

Making this sort of life transition was not easy, as it meant admitting I wanted to
do something completely off the beaten track, which brought up every possible
fear you can think of.  Thankfully, that makes me extra good at helping others
make their own transitions into their new lives.
